@jsonbecker Oh, I love this topic. 🤓 And I don't think they've even "gotten" same-y, either (though I could be wrong!) — cover design definitely follows trends. Same with film posters. I love looking at, say, a dozen movies released in 2017 and compare their posters with each other than with movies released this year. I'd bet book covers, especially bestsellers from the big publishers, do likewise!
