@manton Thanks for posting this. You make a really important point about how our understandable censure so easily has the worst consequences for the ones doing the least harm.
“Drive MacStories out of business because Elon Musk is awful!” would hurt some wonderful people and destroy a wonderful thing, and the awful things/people we despise would not suffer even a moment’s discomfort.
I wish we would spend less time punishing each other just because the system we wish to dismantle feels so invulnerable.
Your remark about encouraging Federico to cross-post is an excellent middle way. ✌️
@AlexKucera yeah, I wonder if there’s a good harness out there for creating a similar computer-wide memory with a local / self-hosted model.
Sometimes it’d be nice to reminded what the heck I spent all day doing (and sometimes I’d probably rather not be!) 😂

@ChrisJWilson pardon the necro reply 🧟♂️ but I just saw this. I’m in the same boat. iPad mini is my main not-a-computer device going forward, I think. Most of the integration I can live without or replace (e.g. swap AirDrop for LocalSend, which is pretty darn good).
Drafts.app remains the software I’d miss the most once outside the Apple ecosystem, I think…
