Life still counts if you don’t record it
When I see posts about how folks have been blogging for 20 years, or have a decade’s worth of hard copy journals lined up on a shelf–
One thing I always need to remind myself is, your life still counted even if you didn’t record it.
That’s not to detract from others’ achievements, or the value they get from blogging or journaling. It’s to assuage my own guilt and envy that I haven’t produced such artifacts of my own existence.
On the small scale, this is one reason I got rid of my Apple Watch: because I didn’t like the itchy feeling that even my exercise, the very steps I take, don’t “count”, aren’t real in some way, unless they’re recorded somewhere.
That isn’t true. Recorded life is great… but it still happened to you, regardless.
